'Reshaping Food Systems' provides an informative and comprehensive overview of the nutritional status, food policies, data intake and food system in the Eastern Mediterranean region. This excellent book contributes greatly to our understanding of nutrition and food systems and it will be of interest to researchers and students in the field of nutrition, as well as policymakers working in nutrition and public health.

The bulk of this work reviews and assesses many policy approaches that can be taken in the context of the World Health Organization’s "six 'game changing' food system actions": fortification, reformulation, and product labeling on one hand; fiscal, procurement, and regulatory policies on the other. Much detail is provided in a no-nonsense style that makes this as much a global reference as a barometer of the Eastern Mediterranean region. Libraries would benefit from having a hard copy of this open source publication for easy reference.
