2. An Introduction to Al-Qur’an dan Terjemahnya

The second chapter introduces Al-Qur’an dan Terjemahnya. It looks at the production and development of QT from two perspectives. The first viewpoint sheds light on the evolution of QT’s content through an examination of the revisions that have occurred over the course of QT's six-decade history. Arguing that the important aspects of the translation’s development extend beyond its evolution, this chapter also addresses the more technical aspects of translation production, namely the format of the publication, decisions regarding the layout, the transliteration and spelling system, and the online and hard copy versions of the work. This chapter contends that, as the official Qur’an translation of the state, QT is prepared to maintain its readership among the country's Muslim citizens.
